除了說,還要懂得傾聽與回應
學習如何告訴別人自己的情緒,只是情緒溝通過程的一半,我們還需要能夠傾聽與回應別人的情緒。最適當的方式就是讓對方能夠完整的談談其自身感受並且給予支持。在對話的過程中「我了解」、與「繼續說」都是很好的支持與鼓勵。
需要避免的兩件事
最後提醒大家在他人表達感受時的兩件事:
1.避免看似安慰卻可能傷害他人的回應
「生氣只會傷害你自己」、「如果你換個角度,事情就會不一樣了。」這些話看似安慰卻不適合在有情緒地當下說出,因為會讓人覺得他不應該有這種感受;或者一旦他們沒有這種感受,事情就會好轉,這否定了別人感受的權利。
2.不要試圖解決別人的問題
根據統計這個問題在男性比較容易出現,幫助別人解決問題是好的,但是當別人在情緒激動的時候,這並不是首先需要的,大部分人最先需要的是自由表達的權利,並希望別人也能接受他們的情緒反應。而試圖解決別人的問題常常使得對方無法滿足這樣的需求
